It was when I just began my journey in Japan when I visited a Japanese Akoya Pearl farm off the shores of Mie. The waters were pristine and the air was clean. I got an exclusive first row seat to the magic which is Japanese pearl culturing. Each of the staff were so dedicated and caring, it made sense: Japanese pearl's perfection is due to this dedication and attention to details. I understood why Akoyas were iconic in any collection. As pearl exporters, we have the privilege to buy directly from the farms. We sort the pearls and put together well balanced necklaces such as this one.
The strand is 17" long the pearls are round, white with slight pink overtones and a very good luster. their diameter is 7.0x7.5mm. The pearls have slight imperfections as these are organic gemstones. But these do not take away from the overall beauty of the strand.
